8 Naming Conventions

8.1 Absolute and relative URIs.

URIs are divided into absolute and relative forms

The Akoma Ntoso makes no assumption on the physical storage mechanism employed to record actual manifestations. As such, there is NO rule for URIs of the items, which are free to assume any form whatsoever and correspond to whatever storage mechanism has been employed locally.

On the other hand, the actual URL for the item must be provided to a resolution mechanism in order for the hypertextual feature of the Akoma Ntoso publication systems to work correctly and automatically.
