Rectification
A rectification is used to indicate that a normative provision as published in the Official Gazette differs from the original version as approved by the legislature, and the discrepancy is such that a normative provision not intended to come into force does so anyway (or appears to do so) or, conversely, that a normative provision fails to come into force even though it was intended to. The error is of the Law and Decree Publication Office in charge to transmit it to the Official Gazette. The error of content is, Italian legislative system, corrected by order of the Competent Ministry or of the Minister of Justice, in a notice published in the Official Gazette indicating the substitution by which the error must be corrected; the minister may also decide that the normative provision should be republished in its entirety. The correction is ordered as a matter of procedure, that is, upon simple detection and communication on the part of any public office or private person or entity.
